Profile
My name is Tarin Arndt and I'm twenty years old. For the past year I have dedicated my self to work with Women and Children living with HIV/AIDS in the slums of Mlolongo & Ngong Town Kenya. My life has been a surreal dream and adventure since I started these projects. I partner with the Living Positive Program (NGO) out of Kenya to help alleviate the suffering of having HIV/AIDS & the stigmas attached with it.
In 2010 I founded a successful fundraising initiative called T4A Apparel (Tie Dye For Africa)
Founded in the fall of 2010, T4A had started out as a simple idea by a young adult named Tarin Arndt, who left her comfortable lifestyle to fight for HIV/AIDS in Africa. Since then, T4A is growing to be a grassroots name in the Calgary region.
T4A (Tie Dyin' For Africa) Apparel is a company whose goal is to create a realistic awareness of HIV/AIDS, by using labourers of love to create handmade tie-dye shirts and other apparel that will color the community with hope. All of the left over profits made from selling the apparel will be going to the WEEPS program in Ngong Kenya who help woman and children living in the slums affected by HIV/AIDS. These profits will provide them with medication, healthcare, education, toys and basic necessities that we take for granted every single day.
In collaboration with the local community, T4A’s ambition is to create a tidal wave of inspirational change and to pay it forward to others.
T4A has since then grown by adding several full-time volunteers. We are now a group of young adults trying to spark passion and change in our community.
We believe that if we stand together we can fight and prevent HIV/AIDS in Africa and our communities
Since then I have started my own Non-Profit Society called the Napenda Rescue Foundation. Our mission is to alleviate the HIV infected and affected by ensuring all basic needs are left. We are currently involved in AIDS orphan outreach programs with the Living Positive Program.
