Online gallery of Ukrainian anti-AIDS art
The Salus Foundation ran a program that ended in 2006 called "Art anti-AIDS." Projects and events included fashion exhibits, artistic performances, sculptures, paintings, posters, emblems, etc.
1. A Ukrainian theatrical fashion event took place on November 30, 2003 at Hotkevycha Culture Palace. It was organized by Salus Charitable Foundation, Metamorphoses Foundation, under financial support of PAUCI, Eurasia Foundation, Elton John Anti AIDS Foundation. 18 designers (7 from Lviv) participated in the performance. There were also designers from Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnitskiy, Kostopol, Rivne. 28 models represented suit works. The best of them were Pynta Tetyana from Dnipropetrovsk with collection "Trimtertsiya," Musiyenko Tetyana from Kyiv with "Play safety," and Vereshchak Anna and Kharkalis Andrianna from Lviv with "Try to preserve yourself from AIDS."
2. The "BODYART antiAIDS" action-performance took place at Lviv Art Palace on the December 15, 2002. The aim of the performance was to visualize the problem, spread propaganda concerning HIV prevention in Ukraine, and popularize a new informational telephone line called "AIDS INFORM."
3. The FASHION 2000 ANTIAIDS gala show took place on Nov. 16, 2000. 17 art collections by Ukrainian and foreign fashion designers on an anti-AIDS theme where presented to a Competitions' Jury. 3 main awards where presented as well as special prizes by event sponsors.
4. The Ukraine and AIDS: Crossroads of Millenniums" art competition took place in 1999 and was supported by USAID and CCFD. The competition encompassed various forms of art including video scripts, decorative ceramic sculptures, and paintings.
5. The "Art Against AIDS" competition took place in 1997 and featured posters, emblems, and radio announcements created by Ukrainian youth.
