Our Webisode & Storyboard Contest Winners Announced!
The team has finished judging the contest submissions, and we were really impressed by the tremendous effort that went into all the entries! We can't thank you enough for approaching gender stereotypes in such diverse ways and realizing the potential of arts-based awareness!
Now here goes...
WINNER OF 14–18 AGE CATEGORY:
"Gay Away Satire" by members of IWES' Media Advocates for Prevention program
This webisode makes you laugh while hitting you hard with stereotypes surrounding young gay men. Its use of flash cards at the end will imprint in your memory the need to 'get to zero' discrimination.
WINNER OF 19–24 AGE CATEGORY:
"If You Are Positive, Stay Positive" by members of Connected Health Solutions' MyMediaLife program
This webisode addresses conceptions and stereotypes about women living with HIV having children. It follows the stories of two young women infected at birth and explores their feelings toward their mothers. The excellent choice of music draws you into the depths of the stories and then leaves you with the hope necessary to do your part to change attitudes.
-Stay tuned for more info about the winners and their reflections on the creative process!
-Runner-up submissions will be added to our Gallery soon.
