"Can you hear me now?" PSA (United States)

The Youth Council (of The UCSD Mother, Child & Adolescent HIV Program in San Diego, California) developed this public service announcement (PSA). This PSA was developed for youth by San Diego youth and in collaboration with Heads On Fire, a community-based media arts training program.

"In the Mother's Womb" by Nikita Jain (India)

This radio piece produced by Nikita Jain, a youth radio producer in India, received an honourable mention in the 2006 UNICEF/OneWorld Radio Contest for the best feature radio program produced by youth that reflected the 2006 theme: "UNITE FOR CHILDREN. UNITE AGAINST AIDS."

The piece takes the unusual perspective of a baby in the womb of her HIV positive mother.

"Living with HIV" by Jose Yesani (Zambia)

This four-minute piece was created by youth radio producer Jose Yesani from Zambia and won the 2006 UNICEF/OneWorld Radio Prize for the best feature radio program produced by youth that reflected the 2006 theme: "UNITE FOR CHILDREN. UNITE AGAINST AIDS."

The piece tells the story of a young man discovering he's HIV positive. Yesani uses an animated monologue over a driving soundtrack to relay this man's feelings on learning his diagnosis is not the end of his life.

Aria from Canadian documentary opera on HIV & AIDS

This is an audio clip taken from the 2009 documentary opera film by Canadian director John Greyson entitled Fig Trees about AIDS activists Tim McCaskell in Toronto, Canada, and Zackie Achmat in Capetown, South Africa. The film is a blend of fantasy, surrealism, music, poetry, news footage, etc.!!
